Newcomer start.me now largest personal startpage service in the world

Nijmegen, The Netherlands (April 5th, 2018) – Today start.me announced that it has been certified by Alexa as the largest Personal Startpage service in the world, surpassing established sites such as Netvibes, Symbaloo, and igHome.

Co-founder Michiel de Wit: “The last two years, start.me has grown from 600 thousand to 2.5 million users per month. Still, our personal startpage service has remained fairly unknown. Getting certified as the largest Personal Startpage service in the world is a great recognition of our efforts to provide the best service possible.”

start.me was founded in 2014 by Arjen Robijn and Michiel de Wit. It gained traction by the shutdown of Google’s popular startpage service iGoogle. A lot of new services emerged, of which only a few still exist. Well-known startpage services include Netvibes, Symbaloo, and igHome.

“We asked Alexa, a subsidiary of Amazon, to audit our service and certify our visitor metrics,” De Wit says. “The results have now been published by Alexa, showing what we have known for some time already: that start.me is indeed the largest Personal Startpage service in the world.”

Personal startpage services provide users with a customizable dashboard that opens every time they start their browser. Users are able to add their favorite sites. start.me builds on this by adding support for widgets, news feeds, and browser integration. This way, start.me helps users save time and stay organized online.
